The Competition Council of Latvia (the CC) is monitoring fair competition between companies. The CC's work contributes to the well-being of society as a whole by preventing violations to the detriment of consumers by the CC. Fair competition supervision means assessing whether companies are prohibited from agreeing, whether dominant companies are abusing their superiority or market power, or whether they are carrying out mergers that may harm consumers and economic development as a whole.
In order to raise awareness among pupils and students about economic processes in the country and the need for fair competition, the CC organises various activities for pupils and students.
